Business Case
The cluster used in this Live Demo illustrates a deployment of a typical Web application from the financial industry. The simulated financial application is run by 'Bank MA' (a fictional financial organization) with the customer facing web server at http://bank-ma.com. The application is deployed on a distributed cluster infrastructure consisting of 5 physical machines containing both front-end and back-end servers. The cluster structure is:
- bank-ma-finance-group - a servers (logical) group containing the following servers:
- finance-backend4.bank-ma.com - Back-end server
- ldap-master.bank-ma.com - Back-end server running LDAP services which uses SSL
- platform-admin.bank-ma.com - Zend Platform Central server containing its Administrative UI
- bank-ma-finance-cluster - a Web Cluster containing the following servers:
- finance-srvr1.bank-ma.com - Front-end server, containing the financial application UI and business logic
- finance-srvr2.bank-ma.com - Front-end server, containing the financial application UI and business logic
Additionally, the Web Cluster contains 2 VHosts - financial-app1 and financial-app2.
